Video: 48 Hours With Korn Behind the Scenes for Video Shoots
Source: Mtv Hive
The Paradigm Shift, the latest album by Korn – or KoЯn if we’re being proper — was the result of pressure. During the writing process, vocalist Jonathan Davis was dealing with depression and rehab. Guitarist Brian Welsh was back in the band after a seven-year absence. The band didn’t actually meet together as a unit until seven months after album production had begun. So, needless to say, they were feeling a lot of weight on their shoulders.
The burden is reflected in their videos for “Never, Never” and “Love and Meth,” which were filmed in their entirety across a brutally short two days. In this behind-the-scenes video of those shoots, the band is clearly excited to be filming with Italian director Giovanni Bucci, but they’re also struggling with the short timeframe in which they need to get everything finished. Davis’s dreadlocks get caught in wires. That famed H.R. Giger microphone stand (which looks like a nude robot woman) gets knocked over and damaged. And of course, the Goddamn guitars won’t smash like they are supposed to!
Watch this exclusive clip that Korn sent to Hive and see how the band remained in relatively good spirits despite the fact that they had but 48 hours to get shit done.
